Huntington Hospital

This past Sunday, we visited the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena where I will be delivering. The building is pretty much like a 4-star Vegas hotel with fountains and marble in the lobby. Not sure where they hide the slot machines. And apparently, the service is worthy of the Caesar Palace. We get room service, meals a la carte and on-demand, the nurses turn into baby sitters and bring and take the baby at your command. The labor room has whimsical foliage painted on the wall and a TV. The maternity rooms seemed a bit simple compared to the rest, except for the new memory foam mattresses, but there's a fold-a-bed so husbands can spend the night. Let's just hope there's a Sex and the City Marathon on HBO that day when I'm in labor for 14 hours.
On a visité l'hôpital de Pasadena où je vais accoucher, dimanche dernier. L'hôpital ressemble à un hôtel 4 étoiles digne de Las Vegas avec des fontaines et du marbre à l'entrée. On n'a pas vu où ils cachaient les machines à sous. Apparemment, le service aussi est digne d'un hôtel quatre étoiles. On a un choix varié de menus que les infirmières apportent quand on les demande, non à heure fixe. La salle d'accouchement a des fresques sur les murs et une télé. Les chambres sont un peu simples comparées au reste, mais il y a des lits pliants disponibles si les maris veulent passer la nuit sur place. Il n'y a plus qu'à espérer qu'ils passeront Sex and the City en boucle ce jour-là à la télé pour aider à faire passer les 14 heures de travail.
